School FAQs


Q: How soon will I receive my child’s school pictures after picture day?
A: Your child’s pictures will arrive approximately 3 weeks after your school’s picture day. Picture envelopes will be sent to your child’s school for distribution by the teachers to the students.
Q: What are the advantages of ordering my school pictures online?
A: By ordering online, you have the convenience and security of paying by credit card or debit card. Your child will not need to carry cash or a check to picture day, only the order form with confirmation number and receipt.
Q: How long can I order my school pictures online?
A: The ordering interface will be available until 5 p.m. the day after make up day. All orders that are placed prior to or within the two-day grace period after original photo day will be processed with the original order. Any orders placed after the two-day grace period has ended, will not be ordered until the make up day order is processed. This is to avoid extra processing charges for you. If you would like your child’s portraits sooner, please contact us at our school message system 530-527-3369 and an employee will contact you within one business day to discuss processing charges and payment.
Q: What forms of payment do you take?

Q: Who do I make checks out to?
A:  CA School Photography
Q: May I post-date a check?
A: Yes, you may post date checks up to 15 days after picture day. You MUST make a note in the notes for photographer box on the pre-pay envelope AND  highlight the date on your check. We will not be held responsible for checks cashed accidentally without these steps taken.
Q: What if I forgot order form at home?
A: You have 2 options: Either you can place your order online or you can return your child’s envelope to our studio within 48 hours to avoid a late fee.
Q: If I have more than one child that goes to the school can I make out just one check?
A: Yes, But each child MUST have their own order form completely filled out. One check payable to CA School Photography must be made out for the total amount of all children’s orders and sealed within one of the children’s envelopes. Please note check holders name and check number on the outside of EVERY child’s envelope in notes for photographer box. On the outside of check holder’s envelope, list names of ALL children.
Q: I am a divorced parent. Can two orders for the same child be made?
A:  Yes, we just ask that the two order forms are stapled together and please indicate on the outside of envelope if you are mom or dad or grandparent etc.
Q: What if I don’t like my child’s portrait?
A: At CA School Photography, we guarantee great pictures. If you are not satisfied, return your package with ALL of its contents on the make up day and we will re-photograph free of charge. The child must be wearing the same outfit as the original photo and. Please make notes on the envelope of what you were unsatisfied with so we may better fulfill your expectations. Please note, that the replacement package will be made with the same background and package choice from the original picture day. If you would like to change the background, package choice or clothing from the original picture day, there will be a $15 Package Remake Fee.
Q: When is make up day?
A:  Your school should notify you when make up day is, please call the school office if you have any questions about when this day is.
Q: My child wears glasses. How do I ensure a good picture?
A: Our photographers are trained to adjust lights and pose your child to minimize glass glare.
Q: Is there an adult available to help my child prepare for his or her picture?
A: Picture day is a big day at school. Teachers and parent volunteers play an important role escorting classes to the camera and assisting the students with any grooming needs.
Q: Can my child wear his/her hat in his/her picture?
A: Unfortunately, school policy does not allow students to wear hats in the fall portraits because they are used for administrative purposes as well as for you to order. However, if you have any other requests for wardrobe, such as leaving a jacket on, etc. please make note in the Parent notes for photographer box on your child’s order form.
Q: I have two children can they take a photo together?
A:  Unfortunately, due to our how our system and lighting are set in order to allow multiple background choices, we are unable to offer pictures of multiple students together.
